A Rewarding Journey

I haven’t written a blog in probably 10 years or more. I’d go and check, but all those posts are long gone on some old archived Wordpress site. Part of me wonders if people still read these things, or if people still read in general. If you’re reading this—cheers to you! For our first official blog post which is accompanying our only website redesign since 2019, I felt that highlighting how we got here, and where we’re going would be most appropriate.

I founded this company in April of 2019 and it is with great excitement that I get to say that we are in our sixth year of business. So many hands, hearts, and minds have brought their expertise to our work over the years—but there is a specific pair of hands, a special heart, and a wonderful mind I want to highlight. In 2023, my wife Abigail Rose Gurr became partner, and that has brought on one of the most exciting eras of this business since its inception. She has been a significant addition to management and creative as we have continued our mission to design a better world, together. Not only is she a prolific designer, she is a gifted woman filled with vision and backed by impressive experience.

Running a business with my wife has been one of the most rewarding journeys of my life. She has challenged me when I was comfortable, she has encouraged me when I had given up, and she has strengthened areas of weakness within myself and within the business that I had grown to accept. Her diligence has truly impressed me—she doesn’t settle for anything less than excellence and she has been a constant inspiration. Her talent and discernment is unmatched. I’m feeling so thankful that I get to work with such an incredible designer and business partner.

Since our partnership, we have continued to excel in brand identity, bespoke print collateral, and web design as primary avenues of business. Working with clients all over the world in a myriad of industries, we mark this moment in time as new era for Studio Gurr. This website redesign unveils a new roster of clientele and design work showcasing the diligence and excellence we have endeavored towards and continue to build upon.
